About Gina
Gina graduated from Idaho State University in 2009 and joined The Garden. She is actively seeking certification as an Emotionally Focused Couples counselor and utilizes EFT in her couples and individual work. Gina also gives of her time every week to work with children victims of sexual abuse and finds this work to be very rewarding.
About Brett
Brett offers private counseling for individuals, couples and families, and groups. His approach focuses on utilizing expressive arts therapy techniques to address and facilitate trauma and emotional healing. He is focused on the need for and development of strong attachments with healthy co-dependence. He has been a faculty member in Idaho State University’s Social Work Department. He has presented on the healing and intervention of trauma to child welfare professionals and foster parents around the state. He knows the values and culture of our community and his counseling methods and philosophies are consistent with them. Brett gained a love and understanding of attachment while fostering teen girls with his wife and children, and his subsequent work training foster parent for licensure. He knows the difficulties fostering can present to the fostering family as well as the foster child. He is always happy to utilize his skills in assisting and strengthening these families in the challenging and rewarding work of foster care.
Brett is continually working on writings about attachment based nurture and positive parenting. Positive Principled Parenting with Discipline for a Change is the title of his first book and the associated blog.
